I wish to express my deep gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, for the spiritual uplifting as well as for the physical benefits I have received through the study of Christian Science. The Bible is a new book to me and I love God as never before. Christian Science has shown me how to overcome selfishness, resentment, fear, anger, and worry. There is peace, joy, and contentment in my home, and the four years that I have been in Christian Science have been the happiest years of my life. For fourteen years I had to wear glasses constantly for serious eye trouble. I suffered from severe headaches, also from an affection of the eyelids, and could not read or sew without glasses. About two years ago, with help from a practitioner, I was reading the Lesson on "Substance," and when half way through the thought became so clear to me that my sight was in God and not in the glasses, that I took them off and finished the reading of the Lesson without them; nor have I ever had them on since that time. I see better and I am better in every way, and I cannot begin to express my gratitude to God for leading me to Christian Science.
