Christian Science is based and built entirely and uncompromisingly...

Erie (Pa.) Dispatch

Christian Science is based and built entirely and uncompromisingly upon two facts, namely, God, and His Christ. We accept as facts about God that He is Love, infinite and unchanging in mercy and tenderness, and inseparable from His children; that He is good, the source and sole creator of all reality, the one and only Father of all; that as He is almighty, all power is of God, and when we have ascribed to Him all power we have none left to acknowledge as belonging to that false claimant and arch-deceiver, evil, or devil; that God is ever and everywhere present, occupying all possibility of presence; that He is all seeing and all knowing. He fulfils in His infinite intelligence all the possibilities of Mind—that He is the only real Mind, since He is All-in-all; that He is supreme; that God, omnipotent Love and good, the only real power and intelligence, is supreme in very point of space and at every moment of time; and that He is changeless—with Him "is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

We accept the statement that Christ is divine, the Son of God; that he is the only way, truth, and life; that "there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved;" that Christ Jesus came to this mortal sense of life to destroy the works of the devil; and that he destroyed lack, sin, disease, and death.

We accept as facts about the devil, or evil (if there can be said to be facts about that which is the opposite of truth and the absence of fact), Jesus' scathing denial of its pretense to be real or to be the cause of reality: "There is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."
