It is with deep gratitude to God that I relate the story of my healing through Christian Science. In February, 1907, I was taken with a severe attack of rheumatism, so that even my hands resembled boxing-gloves. For a time I managed to get from one room to another, with the aid of crutches, but finally my shoulder became so much affected and the pain was so intense, that I was unable to do even that much. I had but little faith in doctors, and for a week or ten days I tried to decide whether to call on Christian Science for help, or a physician. Each day I grew worse, and finally this question was put to me, "If God were at the back door, and the best doctor in the world at the front door, which would you choose to help you?" I of course said I would choose God; so on Monday morning a Christian Science practitioner was telephoned for, and from the first treatment I got relief. The lady called each day that week, and by Sunday I was able to walk to church, practically healed, although I took treatment for some little time after, more to learn of God's work than for any other reason. Since that time I have never been sick a day.
It is not only for the physical healing that I am thankful, but also for the spiritual inspiration.
Mrs. Madge Ferrell, Fruitvale, Cal.
