Words are so inadequate to tell what Christian Science...
Words are so inadequate to tell what Christian Science has done for me and mine, that I have been slow to write a testimony for publication. The great improvement in my own health under Christian Science treatment was followed by clear cases of healing in my family, one a case of long standing and obstinate chronic trouble, where many remedies and systems had been employed. But above the physical healings is the knowledge, the abiding consciousness, of the omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence of God, good, and that "all things work together for good to them that love God." This has transformed my mind from doubt and uncertainty to hope and trust in Christ, Truth. I am convinced, after eight years or more of study and of proving the teachings of Christian Science, that it presents the sanest optimism, because it is built on a sure foundation; and also that Mrs. Eddy has discovered the means of healing, and with it the elevation of humanity to oneness with God; that she has lovingly and faithfully given to mankind the revelation she has received, and that as we grow into these eternal truths, and they become ours, we can and do heal the sick and sinful.
These few words of acknowledgement are given with the sense of a debt long overdue, and with the earnest wish that they may serve as a guide-post to some suffering one.—Alice L. Vandever, Columbia, Mo.
