I wish to express something of what Christian Science...
I wish to express something of what Christian Science has done for me. When I turned to it I was in very poor health, suffering from a complication of diseases—severe stomach disorder, with frequent and violent headaches, kidney and heart trouble. I had been under the care of several good physicians, but none of them could give me relief. I turned to Christian Science as a last resort, for I had no faith in it, and much as I needed the healing I did not want the religion, as I belonged to a church having a high ritual, which was very dear to me, and I felt that the religion which my mother has taught me was the only one.
When I finally did consent to have Christian Science treatment. I was surprised at the change it wrought. Withing a week I was better, and in three week I was like another person. My physical ills had nearly all disappeared, and I was able to do any amount of work without the feeling of fatigue from which I had suffered all the time before. Instead of wishing for the end, I found the joy of living, as it is our right to live, in health and harmony. For the physical healing I am deeply grateful, but much more for the spiritual uplift which has given me the peace of mind that "passeth all understanding." I now know that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494), and there is great profit and comfort to be derived from the study of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
