Many times I have felt a great desire to make public...

Many times I have felt a great desire to make public acknowledgment, through our periodicals, of the great good and benefit that Christian Science has been and is to me and mine. For fifteen years I have tried to live a life in accord with the teachings given in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I have been a member of The Mother Church eleven years, and during that time have been able to show the way to many others. For myself and family, Christian Science has been our only physician, and I want to mention two cases of quick and permanent healing that have taken place within the year.

I awoke one morning to find myself in great pain, which in an hour seemed to grow almost unbearable. I was not able to meet it quickly, so turned to a faithful Scientist for help. My husband telephoned to her about ten o'clock, and in a half hour after I was free from pain and sound asleep. I awakened at noon, healed, with the exception of a sense of weakness, which lifted gradually, and I was able to be in my place by the afternoon. At another time, my husband, who is not a Christian Scientist, had an eruption on his face, accompanied with pain so great that he could not lie down. Christian Science treatment was given him, and through the realization of God's dear love, everpresence, and all-power, the difficulty was perfectly met in about four days' time.

To say that I am grateful to God, and to our loved Leader, seems a small thing to do. I am learning more and more that true gratitude is expressed better in deeds than in words, and that all true Christian Scientists can show love to their Leader by obeying the Scriptural injunction, "The servant of the Lord must not strive" (with personality), but by patient overcoming of self help her to establish "on earth peace, good will toward men."
