I am indeed thankful to God for the benefits and blessings I have received through Christian Science. Five years ago I was a physical wreck. I had kidney and rheumatic disease in their worst form, and for two years I was unable to walk without a cane. I was treated by three physicians, and I also spent two weeks at a hot spring in Utah, but I derived no good from this. A friend then recommended the hot springs of Arkansas, and I took baths there for nine weeks, but I only got worse, and finally returned home very much discouraged, as my recovery was not expected.

I had heard of Christian Science in 1897, from a Scientist whom I met on a train, on his way to California. He told me what it had done for him, and that it could heal all kinds of diseases, and I was comfort somewhat by his statement, for I never had much faith in drugs; but when I wanted Christian Science, seven years later, I knew not where to go to find it, so I went on taking medicine for four or five months, without any benefit, until one day when a member of the family found a copy of The Christian Science Journal and handed it to me. I cannot express the joy that I felt when I read the testimonies. I then knew that there was help for me also. I looked over the list of Christian Science practitioners, and gave my case to one of them, who treated me for four or five months. Through this and by the study of our text-book, in connection with the Bible, I was healed of this painful disease. Several minor ailments have also been overcome through the power of Truth.

I am indeed thankful for the physical healing, but I am more grateful for the spiritual uplifting,—to know that God is all-power, Life, Truth, and Love. Words are inadequate to express my love and gratitude to dear Mrs. Eddy, through whom this truth has been revealed.
