When our critic challenges Christian Scientists to swallow poison, he places himself on the same plane as the devil when he challenged Jesus to cast himself down from the pinnacle of the temple; and Christian Scientists are following the example of the Master when they decline the invitation. The promise reads, "If they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them," and well authenticated cases are on record where Christian Science treatment has neutralized the effects of poison.
