Christian Science has done so much for us that I feel...
Christian Science has done so much for us that I feel more gratitude than I can put into words. In our family of five we have used no medicine but Christian Science for about twelve years. In January, 1907, our youngest son was taken with a severe fever. For the first few days I treated him myself, but as he did not improve we sent for a practitioner. To mortal sense he was a very sick child, and while the demonstration was seemingly slow, every mortal mind law was met so completely that when he commenced to mend he gained very rapidly, and in a comparatively short time he was entirely well and has remained so.
I was taken with the same fever about a year later, and sent at once for the practitioner. I was in bed only one day, and for about ten days I would lie down several times during the day, but all the time I did the cooking for a family of five and ate my own meals regularly. In about four weeks I walked one and a half miles to church and back again. During the Christmas holidays one of our boys injured his knee very badly. He pushed the bone back into place, but could not use the limb or bear the least weight on it. This was on Sunday, and he hopped around on one foot with the help of a stick till Tuesday, when we asked for help in Christian Science. Thursday he walked half a mile and played ball, and the following Monday walked a mile and a half to school and came home to his dinner. He did not lose a day on account of his knee.
Is it any wonder I am grateful for Christian Science? Especially am I grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing us the way.
