THE LECTURES
In introducing Prof. Hermann S. Hering, April 11, to an audience of five thousand people, at the Shrine Auditorium, G. M. Giffen, First Reader of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, said in part,—
The great Teacher of Galilee said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," proving his knowledge and demonstrating his teaching by walking on the wave, feeding the multitude, healing the sick, raising the dead. He further said, "He that believeth on me, ... greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." The world is longing for some plan, some sane, logical way to overcome the poverty, grief, fear, sickness, and sin of daily experience, and witness the fulfilment of the promises of the Galilean Prophet. Through Mrs. Eddy's discovery, as a result of her consecrated searching of the Scriptures, the Science of Jesus' teaching has been given to the people of the present day, and the works of the Master are being, in a degree, emulated. Increasing numbers of earnest thinkers are being added daily to the vast army of those who advocate her teaching—Christian Science.—Correspondence.
