It is seven or eight years since I first tried Christian Science for what seemed to be terrible ills of the flesh, but, alas, I was then not ready to receive the truth. The seed was, however, sown, and thankful indeed am I that the soil was not altogether barren ground. Two years ago I again decided to try Christian Science, and in less than one week of absent treatment I was completely healed of bowel trouble, from which I had suffered for fifteen years. To doubt, or even hesitate, after such a manifestation of God's power and willingness to heal our diseases, was impossible! Always, from earliest childhood, I have had all that material love and abundance could do for me. From a worldly view-point I possessed everything which could bring happiness, but it was a phantom which I was chasing. To Christian Science I am indebted for true happiness,—for peace that passes all understanding, and the blessed, abiding knowledge that God is my shepherd, and "he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
To me Christian Science has brought too many blessings to enumerate, but there are two that shine forth before all others,—the true understanding of prayer and the true relationship of God and man; the power at all times and in all places to demonstrate harmony for myself and my loved ones.—Julia Woods Rubey, Shawnee, Okla.
