Having been in Christian Science almost seven years, I feel it a duty and privilege to testify to the help received both physically and spiritually through the study of the Bible and of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Many times the way has seemed dark, but when my own understanding and study did not quickly overcome the difficulty, a word to a faithful practitioner has always brought the desired result. We came to Christian Science about seven years ago, when our oldest boy was five months old. He had very bad attacks of stomach and bowel trouble, was feverish a great deal of the time, and restless both day and night. At that time I was to mortal sense very nervous and tired out, so we finally called a Christian Science practitioner to see what could be done for us. The result was that the baby slept all that night and was greatly helped. We asked for help many times for him, besides reading and studying the Lessons and attending the church services. The fear gradually grew less, and so many other things were overcome that we clung to the truth. Two years ago in January the boy, who was then five years old, had another attack, after having been free from the trouble for over a year. At this time we again called on the practitioner for help. The child was healed and has had no further trouble in that way.

Every year I have been troubled with chapped hands more or less. Last winter was the worst in the line of work which otherwise would cause the trouble, but through my application of the truth as taught in Science and Health I have overcome that ailment, for which I am deeply grateful, as it was always a source of great inconvenience, and also of suffering. Although we have had many proofs of God's care and love, I consider the overcoming of this trouble one of the best proofs which has come directly to myself. I clung to these words by Mrs. Eddy, "Every law of mortal mind or the body, supposed to govern man, is rendered null and void by the law of Life, God;" also, "Whatever it is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself" (Science and Health, pp. 380, 385). Having had two children born to us since coming to this truth, I want to express my gratitude for the help which Christian Science was to me at that time. The knowledge which our children have of Science is a wonderful help to them in every way, and they could not get along without it. Christian Science found me full of fear and worry, but, thanks to God, these have both been overcome to a large extent, so that now, instead of feeling it to be a hard task to care for a baby, I enjoy it, and am constantly rejoicing because I have learned that in God is strength and peace.

I want to express my gratitude to God, and also to Mrs. Eddy, for having been so lovingly helped over the rough places. I am grateful, too, for the church services, and the periodicals, from which we have derived so much benefit.—Mrs. V. Neilsen, Minneapolis, Minn.
