LETTERS TO OUR LEADER

Brookline, Mass., Oct. 19, 1909.

Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy.

Beloved Leader:—Suspense is always trying, and the past week has been one of especial joy that the Directors of The Mother Church have been found brave enough to separate the "tares from the wheat." I am so grateful for the many rousing "bugle-calls," in our last Sentinel, to the necessity of studying our by-laws, which have always been a marvel to me in their adaptation to our needs and growth. Many of us needed to be awakened to our privilege of finding out for ourselves what Principle requires us to do, as taught by our Manual and your writings. I am glad you do not stay behind to be troubled with our difficulties, but that you are pressing on, bearing such a brilliant torch-light of Truth that its rays will reach us as rapidly as we are ready to respond to them.
