For several years my husband and I have spent a few weeks in the summer at a watering-place in New Jersey. During the winter one of our friends remarked that there were fever germs in the water at that city, and although I mentally denied the statement, I did not go farther and realize the perfection of God's creation, and that He is All. The next visit we made to that city, I would think of what my friend had told me nearly every time I drank water; consequently, after about two weeks, I awoke one morning very ill and in great pain, with every symptom of the disease mentioned. After trying to realize the unreality of pain for two or three hours, but growing rapidly worse, I felt sure I was safe in relying on Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (p. 420), in which she says that "if students do not readily heal themselves, they should early call an experienced Christian Scientist to aid them."

I asked my husband to treat me, which he did for about ten minutes, and I then made an effort to dress myself; but I seemed to be even worse than I had been before, and I asked him to repeat the work. He immediately did so, and in about two minutes the pain had all left me and I was perfectly well. He, too, knew when he had touched the hem of Christ's garment, for without any comment from me he began to prepare for the routine of the day. In less than an hour we were taking our regular surf bath. I have always been very grateful for this instantaneous healing, which proved to me beyond a doubt the power of Truth.—Mrs. Gracie D.
