During the month of August, 1906, I was suffering from a form of malarial fever, as diagnosed by a physician, and had no normal action of the system for weeks. I tried at first to help myself, but did not seem to understand sufficiently, and only grew weaker each day, till at last to please my family I consented to see a physician, who prescribed the usual remedies; but still no good came of it. My bowels were much enlarged, and I began to feel the gravity of the situation. I told my family that I knew that God could heal me, and I asked for pen and paper in order to write to a Christian Science practitioner at Jacksonville, Fla., whom I had once met. On the second day after my letter was mailed the fever left me, and painless action of the bowels followed; the swelling went down, and I was free from all pains or aches, and so happy! I felt as though I could fly. The third day after writing to the Scientist I received a letter from her, which stated that she had commenced to treat me the very evening I was so greatly relieved. My strength came back gradually, but from the first day I was a well and happy woman.

Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I am indeed glad to be able to say to my friends who do not understand this great truth, when they ask if I still believe in Christian Science, "I not only believe, but I know!" and then a great desire goes out that they, too, may know that Christ is with us today, for do we not read, "Lo, I am with you alway."
