I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. It has been my only physician for ten years. In August, 1908, I had a very convincing proof of the protecting care of divine Love. One Sunday morning, as I started to come down stairs. I fell from the top to the bottom, striking on my head. My shoulder was badly injured by my fall against a heavy iron hook with sufficient force to break it. My husband, much alarmed, ran to my assistance, but I immediately declared the truth and these words from our text-book were most helpful: "Resist evil—error of whatever sort—and it will flee from you" (Science and Health, p. 406). Four hours after the accident I was able to attend church. There was no discoloration and the swelling on the head was scarcely noticeable. In less than a week the injury to the shoulder was entirely healed, and all lameness had disappeared. During this time I was able to attend to all my household duties as usual.

Another proof of Truth's power was the overcoming of poison. One of my fingers was badly swollen, and some of my friends were fearful as to the result, but after a few days' treatment in Christian Science all swelling and inflammation had disappeared and the healing was complete. My work necessitated the using of this hand in ways which under materia medica would have seemed impossible. For these, and a great many other demonstrations, I am indeed thankful to God, and grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing me this way.
