The Board of Trustees of Stanford University, Cal., has decided to enforce strictly prohibition on the campus, and this rule will apply even to the fraternity houses. Members of Greek letter societies will not be able to serve wine or beer at dinners which they give to honored guests. Any one violating this rule will be dismissed from the university and the fraternity involved will lose its lease.

In 1907 the national domain amounted to 432,000,000 acres, less than half of which was available for entry under the homestead laws. Of the remainder much is wild land, but some 150,000,000 acres is irrigable, and it is from this that the Government now has twenty-four projects under way to reclaim some 4,000,000 acres and make homes for 100,000 families.

The presence of the police at the racing tracks in New York during the recent races lessened the interest and number of those in attendance. A New York paper says the passage of the anti-race track legislation affects nearly four hundred thousand persons in the United States and property to the value of $100,000,000.
