I have long felt that I would like to write something which would help others to see what Christian Science is to the human family, and for the past two weeks I have been impressed that I must put it off no longer. For ten years I was a confirmed invalid, having undergone four surgical operations and having had nearly every ailment that flesh is heir to. Four years ago, being State Recording Secretary of the Daughters of the American Revolution, it was necessary that I attend its meeting. So ill was I, on reaching the State Conference, that I had to resign and go to the home where I was visiting. As soon as able I went to see the surgeon, and he said I would have to undergo another operation. It was then that I appealed to Christian Science, and in two days was a well woman, having been healed thoroughly.

I am not yet a member of the Christian Science Church, but I hope soon to have this privilege. Last spring, after going through with a trying ordeal, I seemed to be having a relapse of a number of old troubles—an organic difficulty among others—and did not seem able to help myself. Upon consulting a practitioner I found that I was not clear on some of the teachings of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and when my mistake had been pointed out I was told to study some references from it on Jesus' practical mission to humanity. After a few treatments I found myself perfectly well again, and inexpressibly happy in a better understanding of the Word.

I have learned in Christian Science that the ever-present Christ can cure to-day as readily as the Master did two thousand years ago. Life is beautiful to me now, and how happy I am in feeling that nothing can harm me, for it is our privilege to dwell "in the secret place of the most High," to be "clad in the panoply of Love" (Science and Health, p. 571).
