It being over nine years since my thoughts were first turned to Christian Science by a dear old man, I wish to express my gratitude for what divine Love has done for me through this truth. At the time I was a physical as well as a mental wreck, using a pair of crutches and suffering great pain from a severely injured hip and other complications, besides being without hope in the world and not caring what became of me, owing to the fact that a doctor had declared there was no relief for me. My first visit to a Christian Science practitioner in Santa Monica I can never forget, for in a very few minutes I heard a "still, small voice" saying to my troubled sense, "Peace, be still;" and oh, the peace and relief that came to me then and there! After four visits I did away with one crutch, and very soon the second one went the way of the first, later to be chopped up for firewood by myself. I should also state that I had been wearing a four and one half inch cork sole on my left shoe, but it was not long before this, too, was dispensed with.

The spiritual uplifting has, however, exceeded all the other benefits, for it has been the passing from bondage to evil into the presence of light and Love. This freedom came not suddenly, but slowly, and with seeming relapses at times. I still have a few minor ailments, but am gradually overcoming them. Again expressing my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for Science and Health, and to God for His wonderful love to me, I close this testimony.
