I owe endless gratitude to God for Christian Science....

I owe endless gratitude to God for Christian Science. I was bordering on religious insanity, and Christian Science has saved me from a sanitarium. From my earliest childhood I searched for God. I was always striving to be purer and better, but could not succeed. Finally, without letting my parents know of it, I attended the services in an orthodox church, hoping to find God there. When my dear mother, after long and stubborn resistance on my part, led me to Christian Science, I was at first very unhappy, and complained every day that I had lost my God. Soon, however, with the help of a kind practitioner, I recognized that I had formerly believed in a physical God. Now I not only believe but understand that God is infinite Love, that God's children can reflect His image; they are not punished, they need not sin or be sick, because God, Spirit, is helping them daily to realize more and more how to be good, true, and immortal.

My gratitude to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, is too great for me to express it in words. Through our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which I love next to the Bible, I have been shown the way to the true God, who is Love. In return for this I am daily striving to serve God and humanity in humbleness and self-denial, striving to guard my thoughts, to watch and pray for growth in the understanding of Christian Science. For many other blessings, above all for the spiritual blessings, I am deeply grateful. I recognize that Christian Science is the way, the truth, and the life.
