LETTERS TO OUR LEADER

Anchorage, Ky., Sept. 18, 1908. Mrs. Mary Baker G. Eddy, Brookline, Mass.

Dear Mrs. Eddy:—It is fitting that to-day I should write and thank you for the wonderful truth you have given to the world in your book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," for to-day I have addressed a letter to my bishop asking to be deposed from the office of priest in the Episcopal church, relying from henceforth on God, good, in Christian Science, to enable me to grow into a more complete understanding and usefulness. The "little book" is my constant companion, and its marvelous revelation is my meat; it is the angel that strengthened me and encouraged me to come back to Kentucky after two years of hopelessness in searching for health in the West. One of your loyal followers, like an angel of mercy and healing, has renewed my hold on life both for the body and outside of it. The sweetest hope and vision of my life is being fulfilled, namely, that God is a present, available power. The cup of my spiritual joy runneth over; and I shall dwell in the consciousness of divine Love forever.

Accept my thanks and gratitude.
