At times The News and Courier has intimated some skepticism as to the teachings of Christian Science, but in fairness to the cult we print the following statement of facts, for which we are prepared to vouch. After teaching school at thirty-five dollars the month for about twenty years, a lady's health failed and she became a physical and nervous wreck. Although she had no faith in Christian Science, she was visited by a "healer." She was soon cured, and since that time, seven or eight years ago, has been receiving a salary as school-teacher of twenty-two hundred and fifty dollars a year, and has been sent to Europe to spend her vacations, all her expenses being paid.
