When perfect health follows the attainment of the knowledge of divine Principle, the very least one can do is to spread the glad tidings. Christian Science lifted me from a state of seeming physical collapse that had come slowly, but with terrifying results. Medical men did their best for a long period, until the last chapter of shattered health and hopes was being written. I was without any knowledge of Christian Science eight years ago, when a lady told me what this scientific Christianity had done for her, and asked me if I cared to know more of it. I admitted that I felt hopeless of recovery, but would try almost anything, however uncertain it might be. In this frame of mind I went, a few days later, to a Christian Science practitioner and asked for treatment. Within an hour there was a change for the better, and a new-born hope that to me changed the whole world. It was but a matter of weeks to my complete recovery. I realized at once that it was necessary for me to do something myself, and I began reading the text-book. Although for some time I gained the understanding but slowly, I realized that from a literary standpoint Science and Health was beautiful. While common sense told me that as this was the only text-book of the Science, and as some one else has gained from it a knowledge which, properly applied, had given me my health, that this understanding would surely be mine if I persevered in the study. I therefore persisted and the inevitable reward came to me. For eight years perfect health has been mine. Grateful as I am for the physical healing. I am even more grateful for the understanding which enables me to aid others in their hour of need.

It is sometimes asked, "Why are Christian Scientists in general so enthusiastic and so positive?" It may be answered, "Because they have an understanding which they can demonstrate." This is an invincible argument. The great Principle of good made known to us by Mrs. Eddy is not hard to understand, and once understood our knowledge can be most beautifully applied.
