I am very desirous of expressing gratitude to the Publishing Society for the spiritual light that has come to me through our periodicals. Spiritual understanding has robed our Sentinel in a beautiful new dress that speaks to me of unlimited growth in Christian Science. With the sweet simplicity of the tall figures standing on a pedestal, the whole effect is to give the Sentinel the appearance of added stature, and I see weeks of study confronting me as I gaze at the words below the forms, and at the lamp held in the hand, symbolizing to me the light of Love with its own perpetual shining. The simple costume reminds me of the words of St. Peter, where he says, "Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be ... the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price." Christian Science indeed reveals the inner life,—the imperishable beauty of a quiet and gentle spirit; and in Psalms we read, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

What I see on this cover means more growth in every direction. I thank our dear Leader for her continuous labor in bringing to us the spiritual light to lead us into higher altitudes of Love, and I am grateful to every toiler who is striving to follow her in advancing the Cause of Truth.
