We first heard of Christian Science three years ago last February, when my mother, who had suffered intensely for nearly four years, was healed through this blessed truth. She had been treated by nine different doctors, six of whom were specialists; had taken osteopathic treatment; had three operations performed, etc., but she continued to suffer without any relief whatever. We had given up all hope of ever seeing her well again, but as a last resort we were ready to send her to Chicago for another operation. This was in January 1903, but she was unable to go. At this time a friend advised her to try Christian Science, which she did at once. A practitioner was called upon, and relief came immediately; she could enjoy every meal with us at the table, and in one week she was able to ride twenty-eight miles to see her practitioner. Since that time we have had many other beautiful demonstrations, through this spiritual understanding of God as all,—the giver of all good,—and the realization of the unreality of evil.

Last fall I had a severe attack of lung trouble, and could scarcely sleep at all. I had to give up work entirely. I then took Christian Science treatment, and gained quickly, the cough and pain leaving me entirely. I used to have a great fear of everything, but it has been destroyed through this wonderful truth,—that God has all power and there is nothing to fear.

Words cannot express my gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the understanding of Truth which she has given us. My prayer is that I may be more obedient to the demands of Truth.
