It was divine Love that led me to Christian Science
It was divine Love that led me to Christian Science. I was invited to go into the Reading Room one day, and there opened a book which proved to be the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." The first chapter, "Prayer," led me on to the next, and so on, until I found that this book gave a better understanding of the Bible than I had ever had before. It seemed as if I could not leave the book. This was in October, 1906. I went again the next day, and have been going to the Rooms to read from that time until now. I find that Science and Health brings me nearer to God. I had indulged in medicine most of my life; had been through many serious sicknesses, and for twelve years had used an electric battery every morning. After reading Science and Health I forgot my battery one morning and have never used it since. That was the beginning of the change,—Mind ruling instead of matter. I soon began to feel that divine Mind heals, and my medicine bottles looked strange to me—in fact they were soon thrown away. Everything was beginning to look more spiritual, and I was each day gaining a better understanding of Truth. It has given me strength, courage, and more of truth and love. Throat trouble to which I had been subject was healed through the understanding of divine Mind. I have learned that there is but one God, divine Principle, and that Truth heals all our diseases.
