That Christian Science can and does heal all manner of...

That Christian Science can and does heal all manner of disease, regardless of distance or age, or any other seeming human obstacles, I have had many proofs, not the least among which was the healing of severe injuries resulting from an accident. Six years ago my father, a man then past seventy-one years of age, had planned for a visit among friends in the country. In the evening, while being driven from the railroad station, the driver lost control of his horse. My father was thrown out, and severely injured. He was carried to the house of a friend near by, in what seemed a most alarming condition. A physician had been summoned in the mean time, and when he came he pronounced the condition very serious, and told the friends who had accompanied him that he did not think father would live until morning. We then telegraphed to a Christian Science practitioner in Scranton, the message reaching him about midnight. The bleeding gradually stopped, and he rested quite easily in his chair, not being able to lie down. The next morning he was unable to walk at all, the whole left side of the body showing hardly a place that had not been trampled upon by the horse. The Scientist reached the house about ten o'clock, and at noon father walked to the dining-room with a little assistance, and ate and relished his dinner. That night he rested in his bed, and the next day he took a drive of about two miles to the house of another friend. There he walked about as he wished in the open air, enjoying himself for two days, and on the third day took a ride of about ten miles into the country, over as rough a road as one will find among the hills of Pennsylvania, and complained of no more fatigue than usual.

Those who on the night of the accident expected to have to carry him home lifeless, left him to enjoy the rest of his visit, and the life which God alone gives and which He does not take away. Father's name is E. D. Tyler, and his physical condition at this time gives no evidence of his ever having met with such an accident. I would say further that the above is only a very small fraction of what I have to be grateful for through Christian Science.
