AN EXPLANATION

We do not wish to be understood as endorsing the general course or policy of the newspapers from which we quote in the Sentinel, and while we believe that in the main our readers so understand our position it seems proper to make this statement in order that there may be no mistake as to our views and intentions.

The immediate cause for this explanation is that in last week's issue we copied an editorial from The New York World in which some comment favorable to Christian Science was made, and it may have been thought by some that this editorial was accepted as reparation for the wrong heretofore done by The World to Mrs. Eddy and the Cause of which she is the loved Leader, but nothing of the kind was intended. The World stands at the bar of public opinion convicted by irrefutable evidence of having published false and sensational articles about our Leader, and it has not yet had the grace (or common decency) to confess its fault and make suitable apology.
