In the year 1875 I was badly injured, and my general health became much impaired. I took the best care possible of myself, and avoided heavy lifting, but I steadily grew worse, until at the expiration of nine years I was compelled to wear a truss. I was also afflicted with stomach trouble, from which I suffered intensely. I consulted physicians and had medical treatment, receiving only slight temporary relief. During the following eighteen years I had tried all the different healing methods available, but continued to grow worse. The year 1903 found me in a serious physical condition and very much discouraged. In this suffering and hopeless condition Christian Science was recommended to me, but it seemed absurd to expect it to accomplish what materia medica had failed to do. I realized, however, that I had nothing to expect from material ways and means, and with little or no faith in Christian Science I called at the office of a practitioner and arranged for treatment. The second day I forgot to put on my truss, as had been my custom each morning for eighteen years, and I have not used it since, being entirely healed. My general health soon began to improve. I could eat whatever I wished without any ill effects, and in a reasonable length of time had gained good health, for which I am indeed truly thankful. Being a business man, I have many opportunities to recommend Christian Science to others who are in need of it as I was, and never fail to improve the opportunity.
I feel that language is a poor medium with which to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science, which has given me health and happiness. I greatly rejoice in this fact: "With what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." Surely her recompense for good done to others will be great.—Wm. H. Suppe, Joplin, Mo.
