LETTERS TO OUR LEADER

New York, N. Y., Dec. 10, 1906.

Our Beloved and Revered Leader:— We, the students of Mrs. Laura Lathrop, C.S.D., convened in annual meeting, unite in tender, loving greetings to you. We desire to express to you at this supreme moment, as earnestly as words may, our deep and grateful appreciation of your patient, wise, and loving guidance through the wilderness of human darkness, doubts, and fears, and over the Red Sea of error "into the land of Christian Science, where fetters fall, and the rights of man are fully known and acknowledged" (Science and Health, p. 226).

After uniting in triumphal song of praise and thanksgiving to God, the strong deliverer, we pause for a moment to recall one of the many valuable lessons learned of you in our "passage from sense to Soul,"—the lesson that all true and permanent progress is conditioned upon spiritual unity and love. Then, renewing to you, our beloved Leader, our assurances of love and loyalty, and rejoicing in the consciousness of your God-given courage, fidelity, strength, and understanding to withstand the fiery darts of error, we press on "toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus," "till we all come in the unity of the faith, ... unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ."
