When Christian Science found me, I was ill mentally and in dark despair. I had a sick baby, and the means used for its recovery I felt to be worse than the disease. When a Christian Science practitioner came to town, after a great deal of persuasion I took the baby to her, though with grave fear. The child was helped at once, but we continued treatment for three weeks. I was perfectly satisfied and relieved of doubt when I learned that Christian Science was the way Jesus healed. I bought a copy of Science and Health, and used the "scientific statement of being" (p. 468) for everything that came up, feeling that the truth would heal; and it did.

My children were so quickly relieved of a contagious disease by the little understanding which I had, that a neighbor said they did not have the ailment. This demonstration naturally made me want to know more of the truth. Since then I have been trying to show by my daily life how glad and grateful I am to know God, how thankful to our dear Leader for Science and Health, and for all the Christian Science literature. I came to Christian Science for physical healing, but I received the spiritual healing also. All that I am I owe to Christian Science.
