ETERNAL LIFE

The thought of God awakes my life,
And brings to me a joy sublime;
The realm of toil, the sense of strife
Are all forgot when Thou art mine.

When I am Thine then Thou art mine,
And all I am beholds Thy face,
Through all my soul Thy light doth shine,
And give me life and truth and grace.

The oneness of my life with Thee
Creates sweet rest and peace and joy,
And all there is of love in me
I give to Thee without alloy.

Thy depths of life, Thy breadth of love
Encompass me on every side;
In Thee I live, in Thee I move,
And in Thee am I glorified.

This sweet accord, O God, with Thee,
Jesus my Lord did live and show;
Eternal Life it is to me,
And all I ask to feel and know.

O fellowship with perfect Life,
As come and go the endless years!
This harmony without a strife
Excels the music of the spheres.
