Last April I was suddenly stricken with a severe attack of illness and was carried to a hospital, where I was placed under the care of a physician and nurse, who did all they could for me. My suffering was terrible. As day after day passed with no signs of my ever getting well, I expressed to the nurse my longing to go to a Christian Scientist whom I knew, and receive treatment. To my surprise she approved the idea. We planned every way, so that I might be able to take the trip, as it seemed impossible for me, in my condition. to travel three hundred miles. The doctor had told the nurse that he had done all he could for me, that there was no chance at all for my recovery. There was, therefore, nothing left for me to do but to try Christian Science. With plenty of morphine tablets to deaden the pain, I was helped to the train. I reached my friend, and began treatment at once. As a result I was in bed only a week after my arrival, and in four weeks more I was entirely healed.

Words cannot express what Christian Science has done for me. That it heals, I know. I also find that the better I understand its teaching, the better I understand God and my relation to Him—the Bible becomes clearer to me. In all my years of trying to be a Christian I could not realize man's at-one-ment with the unseen infinite as I have since studying Christian Science.
