The Wasp,

In a recent issue of your paper there appeared a criticism of Christian Science that seems uncalled for. Why should the simple announcement in the press that Charles A. Baldwin had been healed of tuberculosis of the bone through Christian Science be discredited and made the basis of unkind remarks? Surely to be healed is something to rejoice over rather than to criticise because it was not accomplished by the ordinary medical methods. The healing of the sick through Christian Science is so well established in these days that the well informed are not surprised nor incredulous when the cure of some prominent individual is referred to.

As Christian Science is indeed a science that may be studied and demonstrated, it is not strange that many who have received its benefits should give up their former occupations and devote their time to the study of Christian Science and its application in healing and helping others who are in need. As the fishermen left their nets in order to become disciples of Jesus and preach the gospel and heal the sick, so in this age those engaged in various pursuits are hearing and responding to the call of Truth, and leaving their old vocations in order that they may engage in this healing ministry. Jesus said to his disciples. "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," and to-day the same understanding of spiritual truth makes man free.
