I was first attracted to Christian Science by hearing that it could make people good. I had always loved the Bible, but in the light of Science it is doubly precious. Many blessings have come to me through Christian Science. The first reading of Science and Health convinced me of its truth, and I knew no power could shake my conviction that it was what Jesus came to teach. The first physical effect was the disappearance of the fear of getting my feet wet, and since that first reading, over fifteen years ago, I have experienced but one sick-headache, whereas I had suffered severely from them up to that time.

About three years ago an almost complete breakdown occurred, seemingly through overwork in school. Through the aid of a Christian Scientist I slowly regained strength, and after a year and a half resumed school work. I am now in better health than ever before. Another trouble that has been removed by Science was a predisposition to homesickness, so great as to make me return home after two weeks' attendance at a normal school. This impression was so vivid that for several years I could not speak of it without tears, but through Christian Science I learned that as a child of God my true home is wherever He is. I later returned to the same school, and completed a four-year course, and for the past year have been across the continent from my former home without any serious attack of the old malady. I am very grateful for the many blessings that have come to me in Christian Science, including the help of the Journal, Sentinel, and Quarterly. Much of the time I have been away from other Scientists, but these helps have made me feel near to them and have indeed been "good news from a far country," which will grow nearer each day if we are "willing and obedient."
