Letters to our Leader

The following letter from Lady Ramsay shows her deep appreciation of our Leader's work, and will be read with much pleasure by all who are interested in the advance of our Cause in Great Britain.

Bamff, Alyth, Scotland, August 7, 1904.

Beloved Leader:—A few days ago I received a copy of the Concord Patriot and one of "A Critic Answered" by Alfred Farlow, with your compliments. Please accept my very best thanks for having sent them to me. I had not previously seen Mr. Farlow's most excellent article in its pamphlet form, though I had much enjoyed reading it in the Journal. The accounts of the opening of the Concord church have indeed interested me deeply, and the appreciation of our beloved Leader and her work by the press at large, as given in the newspaper cuttings printed in our Sentinel, is indeed good to read and think upon,—full of impressive meaning as a sign of the times. But best of all, and that which gladdens and strengthens, is your address at the dedication of the Concord church, for every word of which I sincerely thank you, as I know thousands of Christian Scientists are thanking you to-day, and for which we can never be too grateful. Thoughts that are given out in it are so loving and wise, and show such forethought and such absolute spiritual perception of the need of the hour, that it makes one marvel, then rejoice to know that God has placed the Cause of Christian Science in your hands. May I follow closely, humbly, lovingly, however rugged the pathway to the wonderful light which is shining to-day for all, thanks to the purity of your thought and the Christian devotion of your life.
