A few weeks ago my little girl, three years of age, fell from a child's tea chair to the floor, striking her head in such a way as to injure her neck. I was away from the house at the time, but my mother and daughter told me that when they picked her up the head hung perfectly limp, so that it had to be supported with the hand, the child not crying out, but moaning pitifully. There was of course much fear to overcome, but my daughter, who, though less than sixteen, has a clear understanding of Science, went bravely to work and succeeded, in a little while, in putting down the worst fears, so that when I reached the house an hour and a half after the occurrence, the little one was sleeping. I saw at a glance what the conditions were, and I felt that she must be awakened at once. I took her up and could only succeed in getting her to open her eyes partially. I then took her off in a room alone and declared the truth aloud, and read from Science and Health for a few minutes, when she was aroused and wanted me to read more. I suppose I had read a half or three quarters of an hour when the dinner bell rang, and I carried her down stairs. she sat at the table a little while, then wanted to go to the lounge, where she lay until we had finished dinner. I read to her a little longer, when she showed a sense of nausea, and after throwing up a little she slid down from my lap and went out doors for play with her father and brother, and when a little while later I undressed her for bed, she had a romp and frolic with her kitten. With laughing and playing, her face bright, rosy, and happy she was a perfect picture of health and freedom.

What can express a mother's gratitude for this revelation of the Christ, Truth, which, even with a little understanding, will enable her to overcome such trials so speedily and perfectly. My heart is so full of gratitude to God and to our Leader that often when thinking of this blessed truth my eyes fill with tears of joy and thankfulness.
