A Tribute

The Troy (N. Y.) Daily Press

To-morrow Thomas Impett, accompanied by his wife and daughter, will start on his pilgrimage to the seashore in Maine. On Sunday next he expects to attend service at the elegant Christian Science church at Concord, N. H., which was dedicated in the presence of visiting thousands a few weeks ago. Mr. Impett also anticipates the pleasure of meeting Mary Baker G. Eddy, who at 83 is sound in body and bright in mind, and daily devotes nearly double the conventional eight-hour limitation to literary and administrative work connected with the great and growing spiritual movement of which she is the acknowledged Founder and head. Mrs. Eddy's activities and achievements since she passed her eightieth milestone form a patent proof of the fallacy of popular "age limits," beyond which people are expected to sink into senility and superfluousness. We presume Mr. Impett will leave her presence convinced that he is hardly half-way through his fruitful and brilliant career as an instructor and demonstrator of the vocal art. Verily, a virile and beautiful old age is an inspirer to middle life, causing despondency to disappear and filling the heart with gladness and aspiration.—The Troy (N. Y.) Daily Press.
