Our reverend critic puts Christian Science into a category...

Our reverend critic puts Christian Science into a category of beliefs which differ radically from each other. Suppose that some opponent of his own religious sect should try to add a prejudicial emphasis to a disparaging remark regarding it by classifying it with some obnoxious belief wholly foreign to it, like Mormonism or Mohammedism. Would he not justly feel that scant courtesy had been shown him? Would he not feel, that the Golden Rule had not been obeyed? Would he not feel, if some religionist were guilty of such a gratuitous discourtesy as were his words, that such conduct was inconsistent with Christian charity and meekness? Would he not feel like saying, "Judge not, that ye be not judged"? And if such uncharitable and unloving language were too common among religionists, would he not be justified in classing it "among the causes of the world's apparent deflection from religion"?
