Christian Science found me a physical wreck, but through its teachings I am enjoying better health than I have ever known before. I had been a sufferer all my life and was almost constantly under the care of different physicians, but did not find even temporary relief. At last through the many requests of one of my sisters, who was visiting me from Iowa, I was persuaded to try Christian Science and was thus saved from the operating table. I was troubled with ovarian tumors, nervous prostration, indigestion, and sick headaches. At the time of which I speak, I was suffering from the first-named trouble to such an extent that the attending physician was callling from one to three times per day. All that he did was to advise us to use chloroform to relieve my intense suffering, as all other drugs failed to ease me. He also told my father and my husband, that no drug would reach the disease, and that my only hope was in submitting to an operation, but that in his opinion I was too weak to undergo one.

No one need wonder at my willingness to at least give Christian Science a trial, for I had been told it would not kill, if it did not cure. Accordingly, my two sisters called upon a practitioner at Joplin, and he advised them to return home and lay aside all material remedies at once, and he would give me an absent treatment that evening, and would come to see me the following day. We followed his instructions, and for the first time in many years, I slept nearly all night without suffering. The next day the practitioner came as promised, gave me a treatment, and returned on Friday (I received my first treatment on Tuesday), and on the following Sunday I was able to be up and dressed,—the first time in about two months. The next Thursday I went to Joplin to see my practitioner, a distance of several miles, and when I returned home I walked a distance of about ten blocks. In two week I was able to do my own housework for a family of five I immediately begun attending services at First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Joplin, Mo., and became a member in April, after my healing in October. I was healed in four weeks treatment, and it was no sacrifice for me to forsake my old teachings and cling to Truth.

It has been three years since I found the true way, as revealed in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I have had many demonstrations in my home,—among them the overcoming of pneumonia, rheumatism, and various other ailments.
