The help obtained from a change of environment or...
Grand Junction (Col.) Sun
The help obtained from a change of environment or of sensations is from its inherent nature temporary, and sooner or later the patient must meet the problem again, as the fundamental error has not been overcome, nor can such assistance permanently change a man's moral nature.
In contradistinction the healing done by Christian Science is permanent in its nature, as it reaches and removes the fundamental wrong that caused the suffering. Christian Science makes clear that suffering and sin are due to man's wrong conception of God and of man's relation to Him. When the sinful mortal thought is replaced by a purer, truer concept of God, the disease, the effect of the wrong conception, disappears. In this process the moral nature is improved and man becomes better, happier, purer. He begins to grasp the conception of God as infinite Principle and sees that man's life, instead of being an enigma, has a real significance, and is capable of infinite development as is befitting an individual made in the image and likeness of God.
