Some years ago, while laboring under a very dark cloud, with health wrecked, with a confused mentality, and with absolutely no hope left of ever realizing freedom from this bondage of sense, God sent His messenger of love, bearing the glad tidings of Christian Science into our troubled home. The first vivid impression made upon my darkened sense by this wonderful light, was one of peace and rest. The great sense of fear, which for years had been a constant burden, gradually lost its hold upon me, and for the first time in my life I caught a faint glimpse of the God who is Love.
Slowly but surely the light came, revealing the unreality of all discord and suffering and the ever presence of Love. One by one the physical ailments were met, among them an injury received during an operation. This trouble was very painful, and our family physician, when asked what it was, said the intestines had been injured, and that nothing could be done for it. When asked if in time it would heal naturally, his reply was, "No; it will undoubtedly grow worse, and you will simply have to bear it."
Almost three years have passed since this trouble was healed, and there never has been the slightest return of a single symptom. More recently I was healed of the grip and of quinsy.
