The blessings and benefits I have received from Christian Science are so many and so beautiful, that I could never give full expression of my gratitude for its great truth. For many years I had been a sufferer with stomach and head trouble; my head and back ached incessantly. I could not walk a block without a sense of great weight, weariness, and pain. When it was necessary for me to shop, I dreaded the effort, as it always resulted in a fever which would last all the next day. The time came when I found myself slipping away, the doctor having pronounced my trouble Bright's disease. This was a great shock to me, my father having died at an early age with this disease. The thought of leaving my two children stared me continually in the face, and, receiving no further benefit from my physician, I was ready and willing, through the advice of kind friends, to take treatments in Christian Science. In two weeks I was greatly relieved, could eat everything with freedom, and continued to gain, feeling the benefit of each treatment. Patiently I persevered until the fear and the disease were destroyed.

During my healing one victory which came to me through my own effort and understanding of Truth proved a great strength and inspiration to me. A distressing trouble of long standing was finally met by my clinging steadfastly to the one thought, I "acknowledge and adore one supreme and infinite God" (Science and Health, p. 497). For three days I suffered untold agony. The third night I fell into a peaceful sleep, such as I had never known before, and it lasted until morning. When I awoke I realized that I was healed. Through this experience I learned that there is no obstruction in Truth, and that "Immortal Mind, governing all, must be acknowledged as supreme in the physical realm, so-called, as well as in the spiritual" (Science and Health, p. 427). Then I understood the Scripture, "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day night."

The beauty of this demonstration was in the consciousness, and can never be expressed in words, and I realize since how much gratitude we owe our dear Leader, who has taught us to worship only omnipotent good.
