It is the practice of all true Christian Scientists to be charitable and forgiving towards all men, even to those who misunderstand and misrepresent their religion, knowing that this misunderstanding can be better overcome by a kindly presentation of facts, than by taking up the sword of hostile argument.

What the world pre-eminently needs is Christian toleration, in the free, unbiased light of which we can understand one another's position. It is this broad-minded spirit of patient forbearance which will enable us to co-operate in waging war upon the evil which is our common enemy. It is not to our advantage to quarrel with each other, but we should direct our God-given energies against the foe in ambush, who has been deceiving the world since the beginning of time.
