While living in a large city in the North, a friend from another state, who is a Christian Scientist, visited me. During the visit, she asked if I should like to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. I consented because I believed that declining her invitation would be offensive. After the service, my opinion was not voiced, but inwardly I thought that the whole thing was ridiculous; so I dismissed the idea of ever repeating attendance at such a service.

However, this act on the part of my friend did not fall fruitless. Fifteen years later, when I was going through deep waters, Christian Science was again presented to me. My consciousness was now receptive. All resistance and opposition had been swept away when a letter from a member of my family asked, "Why don't you try Christian Science?"

I was obedient and immediately visited a Christian Science Reading Room where a most loving welcome by the librarian awaited me. I asked for help through Christian Science and was offered a copy of The Christian Science Journal. I read the listing of practitioners and was divinely led to telephone one whose work freed me instantaneously of a condition of many years' standing.
