SPIRITUAL LIVING CONFERS PEACE OF MIND

One of the most precious gifts which Christian Science brings to its students is that of peace of mind. At first the student may have only a glimpse of it; but as he faithfully studies "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, his peace of mind will increase until it becomes a habitual mental state which nothing can break into or disturb.

Peace of mind is a state for which every right-minded individual longs. A peace of stagnation or a peace at any price is not true peace but a counterfeit. If he is to attain perfect peace, everything that makes for confusion, such as apathy, distrust, hatred, fear, envy, disease, must be removed from the individual's thinking.

Mortal thoughts are not peaceful; they are always fluctuating, confused, and clamoring for attention. Amid this noise and turbulence, we may not always realize that our own state of mind needs to be calmed, that wrong thoughts, thoughts of self-justification, self-will, self-love, must be put out of our own consciousness.
