After attending a Christian Science Sunday School for a few weeks when I was quite a small child, I experienced my first healing. My mother sent me out to play ball with a puppy we had. As I bent down to get the ball, he accidentally dug his claw into my face, ripping it open.

I ran in to my mother crying. She placed a handkerchief over my face and said to me, "I will have to take you to a doctor."

The next minute the thought came to her to use Science. For a few minutes we went over some of the truths I had learned in the Sunday School. When the handkerchief was later removed, the wound had completely drawn together.
