I became interested in Christian Science in the year 1917, and since then I have had no other physician. I first visited a Church of Christ, Scientist, purely out of curiosity; but I soon noticed a falling away of objectionable habits and a very bad temper.

Several years ago I returned from work and told my wife that I was not feeling well. I asked her to call a practitioner, and then I went to my room. When my wife came to me she found me fully dressed lying on the bed unconscious. I came out of this state of unconsciousness on the sixth morning. During the intervening time there had been no movement of the bowels or kidneys, nor had I been able to partake of food or drink. I was completely healed.

On page 167 of Science and Health, Mary Baker Eddy says, "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." My wife knew that I wanted to rely wholly on Christian Science treatment; and she remained firm and faithful, realizing that this message from the ninety-first Psalm would protect me (verse 11): "He shall give his angels charge over thee."
