"HE HATH DONE ALL THINGS WELL"

After Christ Jesus had healed a deaf and dumb man, the multitude who had witnessed this work of the Master said, "He hath done all things well" (Mark 7:37). Jesus himself explained the secret of his success in the following words (John 8:29): "The Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."

It was the Christ, his perfect manhood derived from God, Spirit, which enabled Jesus to do all things well, from the time he met the teachers in the temple, when he was twelve, until he surrendered completely ever suggestion of materiality at his ascension. The Father was ever with him, and the Christ, his spiritual selfhood, guided his flawless career.

The question which every Christian Scientist should ask himself each day is. Am I doing all things well? An affirmative answer requires more than the mere knowledge of daily work well done. It calls for an examination of our motives and desires. Do we desire to please God in all our ways? Do we let the Christ shine through everything we say and do? Is it our real desire to glorify God in all our ways?
