GOD'S ECONOMY IS SECURE AND CHANGELESS

God. infinite Truth, knows all, and all that He knows is true. Because man is the image of God, his knowing is the reflection of God's knowing. Actually, then, man can know only what God knows, namely that which is true. Men may believe that which is not true, but they cannot really know it, because at no point can an untruth be a knowable fact, It is evident, therefore, that only by clearly differentiating between that which is a knowable fact and that which we merely believe to be a fact can we preserve the values we cherish.

We are constantly confronted with the necessity of separating the chaff from the wheat, that is, separating that which is not true from that which is true. Christian Science furnishes the rule which when applied enables us unfailingly to make this separation. This rule is that only that which is of God is wheat—is true. And that which is not of God is chaff—is not true and is to be discarded and destroyed.

If at times the belief of economic recession, with its claims of unemployment and industrial inactivity, occupies much of human thinking, we are confronted with the temptation to accept this belief as factual. If, however, we examine it in the light of the above rule, we find that it is not of God and therefore is not true.
